The Pauline Family celebrates 100 years of media evangelization

One month from today, on August 20, 2014, the Pauline Family, begun by Founder Blessed James Alberione, shall be celebrating 100 years of foundation. He was beatified by Saint John Paul II on April 27, 2003. This religious family which he founded is made up of five religious congregations, four secular institutes and a lay association.

Blessed Alberione felt the need to make Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life, known to all people of our time with the means of our time, that is, with the communications media. He was inspired by the Apostle Paul, whom he described as a theologian and architect of the Church. He remained ever docile and faithful to it until his last breath.

This apostle of the new times used to say this phrase repeatedly, “May there be a group of saints to use these means.” What a legacy he left our religious Pauline Family! May we as his spiritual sons and daughters keep intact the spirit of their origins, to respond adequately to the needs of evangelization in today’s world of communication.

Indeed, through Blessed Alberione, God has worked great marvels! May he intercede for us all in our needs!
